Sleepless in Seattle

It’s been one week since my move from charlotte to Seattle. Seattle is very beautiful... Water water everywhere... nice weather, friendly people. Took me some time to adjust to PST though, but now everything is back in order....

Okay before i bore my blog fans (cough cough) let me tell you abt things that stood out for me in seattle...

There is no AC in any of the apartments!!!! i know even i was shocked. At first i thought Amazon gave my husband a crappy apartment... After living in US for last few years one of the thing i love is AC/heater in all the apartments. It is so convenient. Here in Seattle everyone uses Fans.... yes guys it is Indian style of beating the heat.... FANSSSSSSSSSSSS. I am loving it. As my husband puts it "it will be easy for you to move to India from here.... ".

I must add though here summer is only 2 months and the rest 10 months it rains... so you don’t need AC that much... even then NO AC in US of America!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone talks about technologies... I guess this is because of Microsoft crowd... any gathering or outings will end up in discussion about new technologies, latest electronic gadgets, games blah blah blah..... Boring boring boring...... sigh...

Walking.... Everyone prefers either walking or riding a bus. Walking is something i lost after coming to US. Only walking I did in Charlotte was from my home to office which was just across the street.

One thing is Seattle is very interesting place and I am sure I will like it here……….

PS: Trying to fit into a technology savvy crowd……..

Why do we blog?

Why do people blog? I have seen or read lots of blogs in which people discuss every small details of their life, or a very candid description about their life. What is that comfort feeling that helps them write about things, which most of the people find it difficult to discuss in open. Maybe the feeling that they are invisible and they can dish about or vent out their frustrations, expectations, failures, success everything in blog without being judged, without being questioned or without hurting people they love... I like that idea...I like that freedom... but will I ever blog about my life? I don’t know..... I don’t know whether I am ready to put everything out there for world to read....But who knows... Right know I am happy with my chitchats.

Feel blessed and loved

Last sunday we organized baby shower for my friend. The function was a big success. We did the traditional indian godh barayi.... It was a suprise party for mother to be. She was so happy and thrilled, words cant describe that. After party she sent an email acknowledging each and everyone who attended/organised it. She even wrote abt the gifts she recieved. The mail was a thank you note from her heart.... when I did something for a friend whom I love and she acknowledged it from bottom of her heart i feel so blessed and loved. thanks Sneha for that wonderful email.

Attaching Sneha's email below

Am i ready for 30??????

Couple of days back I celebrated my 29th b'day... hmmm I am on the blink of my thirty.... For me 30 is always an age where people are matured enough to handle any situations... I think I got this image from my mom...She was pretty smart at 30. So I was wondering am I matured enough for fast approaching big three O? May be I am matured enough… May be I am not feeling it... but people around me are... Or maybe somebody made a mistake and they mixed up my age. So the big question is how do you feel you are matured enough? Or is it something you do when you are put in a situation?

Just few things

From thanksgiving day onwards you feel like its vacation time in US.... Everyone is looking forward for christmas and new year...All the cubicles are decorated with christmas trees, holiday decorations etc.... it looks so nice...I really enjoy the christmas time.....Last week we had cubicle wall decoration for christmas.... our team made a fireplace.... we had a little mantle and we hung stockings for all of my teammates. It was made of construction papers. Suprisingly it looks really nice.... I thought it might look like a kid's craft porject. But i should confess i enjoyed every bit of making it...I felt like kid again...

For the last few days i am down with fever and cold. This is the kind of disease which is not that serious but makes you tired full time. But i guess there is plus point also. My husband wants me to take full rest...... He is making food, cleaning, keeping the place neat......And i can say for sure he is doing a great job.......I guess these are some of the perks of married life.

Last saturday we had christmas celebration by Mallu association of charlotte.......And guess what my husband was "the santa claus". Association was looking for someone to do santa and as usual my husband was the first one to volunteer. Oh he was awesome out there.....As he always says once he get a mike he make best out of it.
